Cammack Lindsey composes political holobiotical musicals that Investigate scientific and historical relics of failures from extractive capitalism to piece together complex networks of oppression to embody proletarien stories of resistance. Using storytelling as a tool to redistribute stolen futures through performances and installations, they collaborate often with (sometimes toxic) cyanobacteria and microalgae, DIY BioArt/hacking techniques, the voice, sound, & the materialization of colors, magic and ghosts.
Based in Berlin, they produced their first 8-hour musical with M.I/mi1glissé at Acker Stadt Palast in May 2017 and in 2019, and premiered their most recent musical composition ' ∫ ( { } )_ 𝑣𝑖𝑠𝑖𝑏𝑙𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑜𝑤', releasing the recording online with the label Quantum Natives. Their works have been presented in Berlin with Multiversal, 3hd/Creamcake and Art Laboratory Berlin, and internationally at Cafe Oto (London), Ars Electronica (Linz), RIXC Open Fields (Riga) and Cyborgrrrls (Mexico City). As of July 2020, they have completed their masters in 'Art and Media' at UdK Berlin and are currently working on ‘Cyanotoxic Romance’, an upcoming musical and tape release with the label Baba Vanga.

The urgency of prolific intimacy between the working class and nature is emphasized in this investigation of how Italy’s history intertwines with the story of emerging toxic algae Ostreopsis blooms in the Ligurian and Mediterranean sea, melted together within sound compositions by Cammack Lindsey and the song ‘Pirate Jenny'.
All research was made during Goethe Institute’s residency program ‘Generation A=Algorithm.'

'a duet with bäumchen'
performance with a singing tree, 2019
A musical performance with a copper bäumchen (tree) adorned with bells, whose own singing voice and vibrational movements is stimulated by a feedback system and generative sounds. The voice of the performer intertwines with the characterization of the bäumchen to deconstruct capitalist ideals of greed, extraction, and otherness. Inspired by ‘Das singende, klingende Bäumchen (The Singing Ringing Tree)’, a fairytale DDR film from 1961 that emphasizes proletarian morals through the lens of primarily aristocratic characters who through the loss of selfish attributes, status and privilege become better human beings able to engage in real love and friendship, the performance uses storytelling as tool to criticize hierarchies, encouraging alternatively prolific closeness and intimacy between humans and nature.

'holobiont:relics from the revolution'
muiscal cyanobacteria installation, 2020
A science-fiction musical installation & performance set inside an imaginary factory extracting toxins from cyanobacteria to transform them into profitable products, speculating how cyanobacteria’s toxicity and the anger of a working class could expand together to increase their power through symbiosis, as a single ecological unit of life, or holobiont. Singing Bertolt Brecht’s O Falladah, da du hangest (Ein Pferd klagt an), the human voice is interwoven with cyanobacteria’s data that subjugates the space through sonification and movement, amplifying the entanglements of eco-failure, industrialization, and the exploitation of labor under extractive capitalism from humans and non-humans alike.
